Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native who was born in Houston on the 17th April in 1972. William John Garner worked as an chemist at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner, the mother of Patricia Ann, taught at an area college. In the hopes of following the footsteps of her father her graduation was a degree in chemical engineering. However, because she wanted to follow her dream of becoming an actress, she moved to New York to try her chance in the movie industry. Her Broadway roles were accompanied by a stint in a local eatery. She played a minor role on "Felicity" (where it was that she also met Scott Foley). Garner got her first big part on the screen in "13 going on thirty" which was a romantic comedy which was well-received. She was a teen girl who was trapped within the body of an adult. Garner picked Gary Winick, who directed the film. Both Winick and Garner were able to continue to collaborate in pursuing other projects even after his death. Garner became an ambassador of Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009. Role includes national literacy promotion and nutrition, as well as early education, and many other aspects. Since 2014, Garner has been a part of the trustees' board of this group, promoting early childhood education. Garner is an ambassador of the Early Steps to School Success Program. She coaches parents on how to best assist their children in learning.
