Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th in 1967. Roberts is part of the fourth generation of Robertses to live in the Atlanta region, beginning by her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Early in his life, her dad became fascinated by acting. As a college student studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in numerous productions. When he joined the Air Force In 1953, he starred in an airforce production in Biloxi together with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in the year 1955 and their first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter went to Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana following his departure from the Air Force in the year 1957. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the family moved in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou began producing a television show for children in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They financed the production by themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was founded in 1964 and ran for 6 years. They had Lelisa Billingsley (also called Lisa) and Julia (also also known as Julie) at the time.
