While working as a summer intern in her father's company Laura Linney was captivated with theatre. Later in her time at Brown University she studied acting as well as at Juilliard School, after which, her career took off. Beginning her career at the Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared in film within two years, and then on television within a year. In the years since, she's appeared in countless films and stage and television productions. During her career she received many awards, including her two Golden Globe Awards. However, despite all the nominations and awards, her enthusiasm for theater is still there constant, as she performs onscreen and onstage.
