Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but weak characters, is among of the most celebrated American actors of today. While spending her summers in the home of her father her interest grew in theater. While in Brown University for a while, then later at Juilliard School to study acting. Her career began on Broadway soon after graduation, she made her debut in film within two years. She also appeared on TV in the year after. Her appearances have been in a variety of films, and television and stage shows since. Through her entire career, she has received numerous awards. These include 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Although she received many awards over the years, theater was always her primary passion.
