Zazie was born to a german cabinet maker in Berlin in Germany, around the year 1991. Her father was a German Cabinet Maker, who emigrated to the United States following the fall of the Berlin Wall. Jennifer Aniston attended the same high school as Beetz. Beetz went to Skidmore College to study French after graduating LaGuardia. After graduation, she began auditioning for roles. her college graduation and was offered the role as Van on the set of Atlanta. Born in Berlin to a German father as well as an African-American mom, Beetz was brought up in New York speaking both German as well as English at home. Zazie was a performer in her youth and worked in several community theatres. Zendaya achieved the Disney Channel breakout role thanks her amazing dance skills. In 2010 the actor and dancer got her first break-out part when she got the role in the role of Rocky Blue in the show "Shake It Up" alongside the co-star Bella Thorne. Zendaya, then 11, went vegetarian after seeing the slaughterhouse on the trip with her dad. She told PEOPLE, "I thought it was horrible to see all the animals being packed and ready to be slaughtered. "I couldn't have believed that was how I had been obtaining my meat!"
