April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) started her journey in music as a 7th grader in which she began guitar and piano lessons. When April was 12 She composed her debut single Different. At the age of 14, April spent much time writing songs and honed her musicianship ability. Then she began to take trips to write with her father, who lived in NY as well as LA. April featured other topics in her track"Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt with issues such as peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle influencer, as well as having partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia she has gained her own following. Her disability is a part of her persona, however it is not the whole of the picture. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore the fact that she has a disability. But it also doesn't make it a point to emphasize her disability. What's the message? That we all contain multitudes of identities and we're greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I am not convinced that my physical appearance is what defines my character. It's not my intention to have an impact on disabilities because I've got many more things to contribute." It doesn't impact my daily life. I carry on my business as usual and have developed my own methods to adjust. But it's also a part of me, so I believe it's important to talk about. Lockhart has served as an excellent example to other women with regards to acceptance of oneself. She has gone through phases where she was uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. She can wear whatever she'd like, and is proud to share photos of herself wearing these clothes. It's a journey is the most important thing. I'm not certain that will ever be the end about self-love. This is a process, and I'm sure that you never arrive. It is important to have people around you who are aware of and can relate to the way you feel. They'll be the ones who ask what you think about?
